    Massage Therapy Services

    Aromatherapy Massage uses highly concentrated plant oils, called essential oils, to reduce pain and regulate mood. Essential oils are added to massage oil or lotion and have different healing properties.

    Deep Tissue Massage focuses on manipulating deep layers of muscles and connective tissue (fascia). Similar to techniques used for relaxation, deep tissue massage concentrates on specific areas of pain or tissue and uses strokes that are slower with more pressure.

    Trigger Point Therapy treats muscles and connective tissue in layers. It shares similarities with acupressure massage techniques. Trigger points are areas of tenderness in muscles which may also refer pain to other locations of the body. The therapist applies pressure to the trigger points while manipulating the surrounding muscles and connective tissue.

    Acupuncture involves the insertion of fine, sterilized, single-use needles on acupuncture points throughout the body. By stimulating these powerful points, the body’s energy becomes more balanced, allowing the body to heal itself naturally. Acupuncture may work by increasing circulation throughout areas of the body, stimulating nerve pathways, as well as releasing endorphins.

    Balance Life Reflexology

    Reflexology is a unique method of using the thumb and fingers to stimulate more than 7,000 nerve endings in each foot. These nerve endings correspond to all parts of the body, including organs, glands and body systems. Stimulating the appropriate region is intended to eliminate energy blockages thought to produce pain or disease in the related areas, promoting relaxation and healing.

    Myofascial Release – In the human body, the fascia, or system of connective tissue, can be described as a spider web or woven sweater that covers and penetrates our muscles, bones and even internal organs. When injured or inflamed, the fascia becomes tight and restricted and can spread tension throughout the body. Myofascial release therapy uses sustained pressure to stretch the fascia and relieve tension and pain.

    Energy Balancing – Based on Eastern methods of healing, energy balancing involves the flow of energy throughout the body. The therapist uses a light touch, or no touch at all, to manipulate the body’s energy system. By doing this, the body’s centers of energy and channels are cleared of blockages, and energies not conducive to wellness and balance are released.

    During a Warm Stone Therapy session, smooth, warmed stones are carefully positioned on your body to ease away tension and stress. The therapist also uses the stones throughout the massage to gently work the muscles. Warm stone therapy can provide relaxation and pain relief at the deepest level.

    Prenatal Massage – Massage therapy during pregnancy can be very beneficial for both the mind and body of an expectant mother. Applying mild pressure to muscles throughout the body provides relaxation, relief from many common discomforts of pregnancy and can improve lymphatic and blood circulation.
